#1. Traditions are my Fav!

I LOVE me some good ole' holiday traditions and with Thanksgiving just around the corner I could not be more excited about all the fun there is to be had!

This past week I shared 5 ways to spice up watching the Macy's Day Parade. Such a fun way to create precious memories with your family! Click here to read all about it!

Here are a collection of my favorite Thanksgiving Day pins on Pinterest:

#2. Plaid and stripes are a HUGE favorite.

I just honestly think the blend of these two patterns came straight from heaven. There are so many adorable ways to mix them together in your wardrobe!

Thanksgiving Day outfit
inspirations that incorporate plaid and/or stripes!

Okay and side note: I am head over heels in love with faux fur vests. So you best believe I am swooning when there is pattern mixing and fur vest wearing happening all at once.

#3. Tom Booties

I have been crushing over Tom booties for so long now. I am borderline in love and I am dying to have a pair. The wedge is the perfect height and they are just so darn comfortable and adorable.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Loving the simple detailing with the tassel on the side. I am really liking the new style of the high top Tom wedges. To view all of Tom's options click here.

You can never go wrong with classic suede brown shoes. They would pair perfectly with so many outfits, especially for fall! To order click here.

Cheetah print is obviously a neutral, so these new high top Tom wedges could definitely become a staple in your closet. Love them! To order click here.

5 Thanksgiving Parade Traditions

I love traditions! I truly believe that holiday traditions are what fill my childhood with such wonderful memories.

Here are a few Thanksgiving Day traditions that you and your family don't want to pass up! These five ideas will fill your Thanksgiving day full of unforgettable memories and fun!

#1. Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate

To get the recipe click here.

I found this delicious recipe over at The Marvelous Misadventures of a Foodie. Her blog is absolutely adorable and adding her Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate to your Thanksgiving breakfast menu will be life changing!

What could possibly be better than drinking this divine hot cocoa, while being all toasty and warm, watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? Well, I will tell you....

Being all toasty and warm, watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and drinking Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate out of this absolutely adorable Turkey Mug! Reuse the mug each year for Thanksgiving Day and make another fun tradition out of it!

To find these at Pier 1 click here.

#2. Cinnamon Roll Turkeys For Breakfast

I am literally squealing. These Turkey Cinnamon Rolls are the most precious things in the world. I guarantee that eating these for breakfast on Thanksgiving morning while watching the parade would be a memory that you would never forget!

#3. Gratitude Pumpkin

During commercial breaks, write everything you are thankful for on a mini pumpkin! This is such a great way to reflect on all of the positive things in your life, while also reminding you of the true reason for Thanksgiving.

#4. DIY Tie Blankets

I love, love, love the idea of making tie-blankets while watching the Thanksgiving Day parade and then donating them to a homeless shelter or someone in need for Christmas. This super easy, no sew, tie blanket tutorial is found here. Getting crafty and being philanthropic will help make watching the parade so much more meaningful!

#5. Stay in your cozy PJ's & slippers.

The cherry on top of all of these great traditions is experiencing all of the fun while still being comfy in your PJs.

My Plaid-Stripe Combo Obsession

I know this is old news but plaid and stripes go together like peanut-butter and jelly, milk and cookies, and hot cocoa and marshmallows.

I adore the combo of these two patterns and the way they compliment each other. I had been determined to mix the two together in my own wardrobe but just wasn't sure how. Per usual I went to Pinterest for a little inspiration and here are some of my favorites.

After I stalked Pinterest I ended up with this combination....

Loving the pocket detail in the front and the length of this tank. To purchase this striped shirt click here.

If you are wanting something with sleeves check out this Free People Tee that is currently on sale at Bloomingdales. Love the ragged look of this tunic. Click here to purchase!

And to get a similar version of my buffalo plaid, check out this great find at Woolrich. So soft and cozy for this cooler weather that is creeping in!

Do you love plaid and stripes as much as me? Can't wait to see how you pair the two together!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Everyone!!!

The weekend is finally here!!! I am kicking off the excitement with another link-up of Friday Favorites with some of my favorite bloggers. Check out Andrea's blog called MomfessionalsErika's blog called A Little Bit of Everything, and Narci's blog called Grace and Love. Their blogs are so inspiring and they are a must read!

This week I have more favorites than I can quite possibly count, but here are just a few!

#1. Double dates with my parents & Louisville Basketball.

Although I am a Boilermaker, deep down I have always been raised a Cardinal fan. I secretly still love Louisville basketball a ton, so I wasn't disappointed at all when my mom surprised my dad with Louisville basketball tickets for his birthday and asked me and David to join!

Several attempts at a good picture of these two yahoos and this was literally the best one I got. Despite their lack of being photogenic, I adore these two so much. They love each other more than ever and are constantly having so much fun. Loved our little double dinner date with them at a cute little pizzeria in downtown Louisville right by the YUM center.

All of us after the game! Louisville won so that explains why everyone is smiling! :)

(Well everyone besides my dad... don't get me started again on the not-so-photogenic rant.)

#2. Christmas Coffee Mugs & Sweet Friends are my favorite!

One of my sweet roommates surprised me with this adorable Christmas mug. Isn't it the absolute cutest thing ever? I am obsessed! Christmas in a cup...all day every day people. It is the little things in life I'm tellin' ya!

My mug is sold out, but I have seen so many cute options elsewhere!

To purchase these stackable cuties from Target click here.

I have never seen Christmas mugs like these! Love this set from Elizabeth's Embellishments. To order click here.

And if you are more of a tea person instead of coffee, check out these precious little guys from the English Tea Store.

They have so many cute options! I am swooning over each and every mug on their website. Fall in love with them too and take a look by clicking here.

#3. Study Buddies are another fav. Studying however is not my fav.

This e-card is speaking nothing but the truth, people!

Studying with friends makes studying a whole lot better. When I isolate myself from the world to study, my brain in turn goes ballistic. It just doesn't work for me at all. I am so thankful for friends who enjoy studying with other people as well. It sure does make learning about fine motor skills and physics more bearable. ;)

Obviously studying with David is the most productive way to study. Stealing his headphones and taking selfies is the reason why we are not longer allowed to go to the library together, especially the day before an exam. I wish I could blame him for this, but it is entirely the result of my immaturity and lack of self-disciple ;).

Rachel and I should probably adapt the same philosophy as me and Dave because our study sessions turn more into laughter sessions, but laughter is good for the soul, and when the soul is happy, studying and learning becomes more productive. I am convinced that statement is 100% logical.

Another fun study date with miss Rachel.

And when all of my besties are all studied out, I rely on one of my favorites to keep pushing me through... caffeine in the form of Starbucks. It always comes through in the clutch.

#4. Hobby Lobby's Jesus Inspired Christmas decor is obviously another one of my favorites.

I could not resist this sign. Love the pun on words and love the meaning.

I could not find the sign on Hobby Lobby's webpage, but they had lots of options just like the one I purchased in the store! I am hoping to pick up a few more before Christmas rolls around.

#5. Fall Family Pictures are my fav!

Okay, these are actually family photos from last fall, but as we are prepping for family pictures again soon, I found myself looking back through all of the pictures we took last year. I loved that we took the pictures at my grandparents' house. It makes the scenery extra special.

Here is the whole clan on my mom's side. Goodness do I love these people.

The sibs and sweet Dave.

I just adore these two. They are so sweet.

These people mean the absolute world to me. Love them to a million pieces.

And these football pictures define our family perfectly.

Just a little huddle sesh before we snapped the next picture.

Last but not least, my favorite out of them all!

Happy Friday, everyone! Have a wonderful weekend!
