MEAL DELIVERY IDEA

Well we are half way through the week with just a few more days to push through until the weekend!  I have been under the weather the past few days, so I am home cozzied up on the couch with hot tea in my hands. I am certainly looking forward to flu season ending and the hot summer sun taking over.

But for now, I am sharing with you a super simple meal idea to deliver to friends who have just moved into a new home, welcomed a new little baby into the world, or just need a little pick-me up. Really, the occasions are endless.

Here are the items I included in the basket:
-Dish towel
-Plastic cutlery and napkins
-Vase of fresh flowers
-Paper plates
-Loaf of garlic bread
-Homemade chocolate chip cookies
-Parmesan cheese
-Homemade spaghetti
-Tossed caeser salad
-Gallon of lemonade and iced tea (which I forgot to deliver with the meal! #sigh)

I purchased salt and pepper shakers from the Dollar Tree and filled one with parmesan cheese for the family to add to their spaghetti during meal time.

SPAGHETTI RECIPE:
1 Pound of Ground Beef or Ground Turkey
1 Medium onion, chopped
1 (6 oz) can of tomato paste
15 oz. tomato sauce
3/4 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup of water
1 tbsp granulated sugar
Crushed red pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:
1. Brown ground beef and season to taste with salt and pepper in a large skillet
2. Add in the onion and continue to brown beef
3. Remove grease from skillet
4. Add the tomato paste, italian seasoning, worcestershire sauce, sugar, and garlic powder to the ground beef and onion and stir well.
5. Bring the skillet to a simmer
6. Next, add in the water and stir well.
7. Reduce the heat and continue to simmer for 30 minutes
8. Pour over cooked spaghetti noodles and enjoy!

I grabbed a pre-made salad from the grocery and threw it in a to-go box. Hint: Don't add the dressing and croutons to the salad. The croutons will loose their crunch and lettuce will get extra soggy. Let the family add them to the salad right before meal time.

The meal prep is super simple and fairly quick and will be sure to brighten anyone's day! Not to mention, it was so fun to make and deliver! I will definitely trade making a meal for snuggling a new born baby any day of the week.

Happy Wednesday, Friends!

  2. What a great idea! This would be the perfect thing to take to someone who's just had a baby. That spaghetti sauce also looks delish - I've never added Worcestershire to spaghetti sauce before but now I really want to!
