Thankful Thursday

My sweet bestie Addie and I are kicking off our Thursday with lots of thankfulness!
If you are anything like me you know how hectic life can be. Sometimes I lose sight of the many blessings, big and small, that fill my life with so much joy everyday.

I love Thankful Thursday because it forces me to reflect on the many positives throughout the week and allows me to truly be thankful for the beauty amongst life's craziness.

Here are just a few of the things that I am thankful for this week:

1. My Hunter Wellies

Truth is, I hate the cold. Absolutely cannot stand the cold.
This is so true.

Friday, I woke up at 6am for class, saw that the temperature felt like zero degrees outside, and went back to bed. I don't embrace negative temperatures. Instead, I choose to embrace a warm bed and a happy heart.

This is so me right now. I am snappier than ever. This homegirl is craving some major Vitamin D. Preferably tomorrow. ;)

But the bottom line is, despite my hatred towards the cold, I truly am thankful for the boots that have helped me stomp through inches of snow this winter.

Oh Hunter Wellies,
You my friends are my saving grace this winter and you have kept my little phalenges nice and toasty during this frigid weather and for that I am forever grateful.

I love me some black Hunters.

2. Kleenex, but for realz.

This basically sums up my life.

By the time I walk across campus and make it into class, my eyes and nose are going hammer time and it's absurd. Thankfully, my little handy travel Kleenex packs save the day.

You may think I am exaggerating and there is a good chance I am, but these little guys are bosses. They have definitely come through in the clutch for me this week and I am mighty thankful.

3. Ecclesiastes 4:12

This is my favorite Bible verse for many reasons, but my favorite being that my engagement  ring has three bands that are intertwined symbolizing the bond between me, David and God.
I am so thankful for a man who leads me spiritually and will eventually lead our family spiritually as well. I am thankful to be able to share prayer requests with David throughout our days and I love love love receiving encouraging Bible verses from him.

4. Starbucks

Here is living proof that I am as "basic" as they come...

Not one...

Not two...

Not three..

Not four...

Not five...

Not six...

Not seven...

Not eight...

Not nine...

Not ten...

Not eleven...

BUT TWELVE...

Twelve pictures of me with/holding Starbucks. It's a huge part of my life and I am thankful.

Where would I truly be without my Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Caramel Macchiatos?

.....probably sleep deprived.

What are you thankful for this week?
I am so excited to hear about all of the blessings, big and small in your life!

Friday Favorites: Valentine's Day Addition

Happy Friday Everyone!!!
The weekend is finally here!!! I am kicking off the excitement with another link-up of Friday Favorites with some of my favorite bloggers. Check out Andrea's blog called MomfessionalsErika's blog called A Little Bit of Everything, and Narci's blog called Grace and Love. Their blogs are so inspiring and they are a must read!

1. It's not Valentine's Day unless you rock an outfit with some red & pink. Know what I mean?

Here are some of my favorites:

Take this classy red dress and transform it into this....

Take this pink cardigan and transform it into this...

Snag this pink sweater from Target and transform it into this outfit...

Love how classy this is and I must say I am semi-obsessed with her matching lipstick color.

Take this hot pink sweater and transform it into this...

Throw this adorable, snazzy pair of red flats and make this cute outfit...

2. I love love love the song Sugar by Maroon 5.

This music video is my favorite. I just adore how sweet and surprised these precious couples are.

3. Pretty, Colorful Pens have stolen my heart.

Okay, this has nothing to do with Valentine's day other than the fact that I am absolutely in love with these pens.

In. Love.

Oh Stablio Pens, you bring so much color into my life.

I use them to spruce up my calendar & to remind me of important dates!

Love using my pens to write out my monthly goals.

And naturally they are the perfect touch to my weekly planner.

4. I am loving all of the yummy Valentine's day treat inspiration on Pinterest.

Here are some of my favorites that I am eager to try:

5. Cheesy gifts are some of my favorites.

It is no surprise at all that I am a sucker for way too cheesy things.
Speaking of cheesy, here is a little throwback to the ridiculously cheesy gift I gave to David a few years back for our one year anniversary.

I decided to keep the ball rolling this year and ended up with this...

"You're my BUTTER half"...

For those of you that don't know, David's last name is Butterfield...

The irony was just too good, I couldn't pass it up. Shout out to my sweet and creative roommate, Dev for coming up with the grand idea!

David and I aren't buying each other Valentine's Day presents this year, so I decided that Saturday I am going to surprise him and bring him breakfast. I am putting together a little basket and so far I have included in it these "puny" fruits...

I am planning on making scrambled eggs, these cinnamon rolls and heart shaped pieces of bacon.

More pictures to come next week!

Happy Friday, Friends! Have a wonderful weekend! :)

1. Moments of Peace and Quiet
The truth is I love being surrounded by people that I love, but every once in a while silence calms my soul. There is just something about zero noise that brings about a sense of peace and tranquility in my life.

As hard as it is for me to wake up early in the mornings, once I am up with a cup of joe in my hands, I thoroughly enjoy the piece and quiet. I truly am grateful for a few hours to think, reflect and spend some time with the Lord.

I love this. A lot.
Expectations, big or small, can weigh you down. In the mornings I am thankful for no pressure from the outside world, letting go of insecurities and the ability to just be who I want to be with no judgement what so ever.

2. Jesus Calling

I love Jesus Calling

I am so thankful for a devotion that encourages me daily and helps to keep me accountable. Through the years I have tried numerous devotions but have had a hard time sticking with them. Jesus Calling had me hooked at day one.

3. Being a Purdue Student

First and foremost I apologize for bringing this up once again. It is borderline absurd, but folks, as my time at Purdue is slowly dwindling away, I can't help but obsess over how much I absolutely adore this place. I love bleeding black and gold.

I will forever be thankful for how Purdue University has shaped me into the person I am today.

A lot has changed since I went off to college. I've matured, met the love of my life, have been blessed beyond measure with life-long friendships, changed my career path a million gazillion times, and truly discovered what makes me happy.

Just another reason why I am thankful for Purdue. I love spring and the pep it adds to everyone's steps on campus. It's just around the corner, friends! We can do it!

I am going to miss these beautiful nightly walks to my favorite Starbucks with some of my favorite people. Everything is just so much prettier in West Lala...(if only). Really though, God did quite the job painting that gorgeous sky and I am thankful for reminders as simple as that, that prove to me just how powerful and miraculous he is.

4. Craziness

I will be the first to admit it....my friends and I are full force crazy and I like it that way.

From the things we say, to the crazy shenanigans we partake in, we are absolutely ridiculous and I wouldn't want it any other way. I am so thankful for friends who are crazy fun and always make me laugh.

I am officially saying goodbye to always being the "fun-sucker"...it's way more fun having two gallons of crazy in your bucket? ;)

5. Retail Therapy
Ever heard the saying, "I wish retail therapy was covered by my health insurance"?

Well folks, I am one of those people that are hoping and praying that one day my good ole' insurance company will be on board with the most brilliant idea there ever was.

Until then, my wallet will be in a lot of hurt due to my semi-riduclous, semi-amazing favorite hobby.

and for those of you don't think it's a real thing, the dictionary even has a word to define it, so it must be true.

Oniochalasia: (n.) buying or shopping as a method of stress relief or relaxation.

#6. Sweet Surprises from my Sweet Dave

I am very thankful for a man who knows just how to brighten my day. He randomly surprised me with flowers and Oreos on Monday. He sure knows how to make this girl happy.

Happy Thankful Thursday, Friends!
