Hello friends!
Let me fill you all in on a little secret. I love love love coaching volleyball. These little middle schoolers are certainly testing my patience, keeping me on my toes, and making my hair prematurely turn gray, but I would not trade my experiences coaching them in for the world.
They remind me that although having a competitive spirit is great, you should never lose sight of the true meaning of sport. They remind me that being a middle schooler brought about many insecurities and changes, but when you have a solid foundation with the Lord and great friends you can overcome the obstacles together. They remind me that everyday is filled with blessings if you are just willing to sit back and be thankful for them.
They truly are a special group of girls and deserve to have a special middle school experience playing volleyball. I am working very hard as their coach to teach them the fundamentals of volleyball, but most importantly, teach them the true meanings of teamwork, effort, and encouragement.
We had our first tournament Saturday and I wanted to show them some extra encouragement bright and early! I created this little print off goodie bag tags that I made for each of the girls.
I shrunk the size a little and printed them out 4 per 1 page of standard computer paper and then cut them out into individual squares.
I purchased cheap little plastic goodie bags from the dollar tree, as well as a bag of smarties, the Extra brand gum, as well as fun size mounds, crunch and 100 grand candy bars. Get the irony?
I tied each bag with a cute little colored ribbon and boom! An easy, affordable encouraging goodie bag for my adorable little middle school volleyball players.
In a few weeks I will be sharing with all of you my coaching tips and tricks, so stay tuned.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend, y'all!
Maddie
