The Most Devine Pizza Ever.. & it's GRILLED.

Hello there Thursday!

You have certainly crept up on us! So anxious for the fun filled weekend ahead. But first, let me fill you in on one of the most delicious dinner menu options.

GRILLED PIZZA.

Yeah, that's right.. grilled pizza, anyone?

This recipe is absolutely delicious and it is perfect for the summer & the FALL! Nothing better than throwing a couple of personal pizzas on the grill during half time of your team's football game.

Here is the recipe:
Ingredients you will need include:
Pizza dough
Pizza sauce
Cheese of your preference.  I love using mozzarella the best, but grated Swiss and Parmesan is also mighty tasty.
Your favorite pizza toppings
Olive oil

Must Haves:
Grill... I have always used a gas grill,  but I really want to try the recipe out on a charcoal grill as well.
Metal tongs
Metal spatula

Instructions:

  1. Heat the grill: You should heat it quite hot; we usually put the temperature to about 550°F.
  2. Gather your ingredients and toppings: We always set all of the topping options out in a row to make it easier for people to move through the line and pick what they would prefer to have on their personal pizza.
  3. Prep your dough: It should be stretched or rolled out into a thin circle or rectangular shape. Even though rectangles are the standard way that pizzas are made, they are a lot easier to maneuver on and off the grill, plus why not switch things up a bit, right?
  4. Brush the dough with olive oil: Brush one side of the dough with oil; this is the side you'll lay down on the grill.
  5. Grill one side of the pizza crust: Place your dough, olive oil side down, on the rack of the grill.  Depending on how hot your grill is, cook the dough for about 3 minutes with the lid off or until grill lines are apparent or the dough, or for approximately 1 to 2 minutes, if you prefer to grill with the lid on.
  6.  Grill your veggies: Personally, what I think is so tasty and unique about grilled pizza is grilling the veggies you are using as pizza toppings. I love cutting up green peppers, onions and mushrooms and heating them up on the grill before I add them to the top of my pizza.
  7. Fill your pizza with toppings on toppings on toppings: The next step has to be a fairly fast one. Flip your pizza dough over with the tongs or spatula (the dough should be easily removed without sticking). Now, as fast as lightening, you need to top your personal pizza quickly. Spread thin layer of sauce first, add some cheese, and lastly, finish it off with the rest of your toppings.
  8. Cook the pizza: Very similarly to before, put the lid on and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. This will allow the opposite side of the crust do become crisp, as well as heat up your sauce, melt your cheese, and warm up your other toppings. Depending on how loaded you topped your pizza, the length of time it needs to cook may vary.
  9. Snatch your pizza and prepare yourself for indulging in the tasty goodness of your creation: But first, check to make sure the crust has charcoal lines and is fully cooked. The edges should be crisp and well done, and the cheese should all be melted. I know it is hard to not instantly shove it into your mouth because it smells absolutely DELICIOUS, but let it stand for approximately 3-5 minutes to cool off.

Pair it with some chips and dip or some fresh fruit and it makes the perfect meal to enjoy on a nice cool fall day!

I hope you enjoy this tasty recipe! Thanks for stopping by!
