WOODLAND WEDDING DETAILS

Ever since I can remember I have always been a very detail oriented person. If a picture was 1/8 of a millimeter crooked it caught my eye, if a cereal box was upside down in the isle at Target I just had to flip it around or it would bother me. I know, I'm crazy. And I know that at times I spend way too much energy stressing out about silly things. One being making sure I nailed down every last detail of every last thing while planning for mine and David's wedding.

People kept telling me, "you're the only one that's going to notice it...don't worry about it..." and looking back they were right. Sometimes during the wedding planning phase I would get way too wrapped up in what the centerpieces were going to look like, how I was going to decorate the pews at the church, how I was going to address the invitations, ect. that I would completely forget the real reason for the day.

Overall, however, I feel I settled for a good balance of adding in some corky details, while still allowing myself to sit back and enjoy that precious time in my life.

Here is a little glimpse of some of the details that composed our woodland wedding on October 17th.

Stole this chalkboard for 66% off a Hobby Lobby a few years back and thought it would make the perfect place for a little warm welcome for our lovely wedding guests.

These floral arrangements were on the tables at our rehearsal dinner! What a great way to repurpose them for the wedding day! They added just the perfect touch of color to these old wooden crates as guest walked through the church doors.

I used our engagement pictures to create a photo book on Shutterfly. I love that all of our engagement photos are in one place, with our favorite peoples handwritten messages layered on top. Fine print Sharpie markers for the steal! Worked perfectly on the glossy paper.

I have a slight obsession with creating little things on Picmonkey. It has kinda become my therapy. I wanted a wedding program that was fun, smaller in size, and something that was different than anything I had really ever seen before. I added lots of random details that I thought our guest would enjoy! The back listed our bridal party, family members, and gave a few shout outs to some wonderful helping hands along the way!

I wanted a beautiful backdrop for a few family photos, and my sweet friend's mom (& our wedding officiants wife!) made my vision come to life. I want this fireplace and decor in my living room.

This picture is extra special to me for two reasons. One being that my Grandpa who recently passed away is on a charm that was attached to my wedding bouquet. This man meant the absolute world to me and I miss his sense of humor and sweetness every day.

Secondly, my Mom's wedding dress has been packed away in a preserved box since her and my dad got back from their honey money 20 some years ago. We opened it the week of the wedding with my sister and grandma and it was just too much fun.

Little did I know, my mom cut a piece off and had "love you to the moon and back" embroidered on it. It made the perfect wrap for the flower stems on my bouquet. I just love how meaningful my bouquet turned out.

A simple way to recognized the loved ones that couldn't celebrate with us on our wedding day. I stole this "In Loving Memory" sign from Hobby Lobby 50% off! Plan to keep it for when my sister gets married next ;)

My sweet friend & lovely bridesmaid Katie, gifted me this adorable hanger for my wedding dress. Love that it has our wedding date on it. Thanks so much, KT! This was such a fun detail!

If you haven't noticed yet, I really like to be different. I knew I wanted the bouquets to tie in with our woodland theme, I just wasn't sure how I was going to pull it off. I landed on heart shaped bouquets with random combinations of greenery and floral. My best friend since 3rd grade & bridesmaid's talented sister, created these one of a kind beauties for me.

David and I took communion during the wedding ceremony. Such a special time for both of us-being that we strive to put Christ as the center of our relationship. And below a close up images of the table.

Just some sheer fabric in various shades of green, thrown together with some extra greenery for the win on the isle pews. My Grandpa is a gem stone and cut me lots of log stumps that we scattered about, and complimented with different sizes and shapes of class jars filled with candles. It really set the romantic mood for the ceremony when the lights were dimmed and they were all lit ;).

I am in absolute love with the cross that was in the background during the wedding ceremony. Such a meaningful and beautiful symbol.

That's a wrap on wedding ceremony details! Truly could not have done any of this without the wonderful help of my family and friends. They truly are such a blessing. Stay tuned for some wedding pictures and details of the wedding reception!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Wednesday, Friends!

ANOTHER BESTIE ENGAGED!

I know I have said it a million times but I have truly hit the jackpot with best friends. I guess I can attribute that to my sweet friend Stacie who set the standards for besties high in the early years of elementary school.
I just love this girl to pieces!

We have spent nearly 2/3 of our lives being best friends so you can only imagine the excitement I felt when I received this text from her...

insert lots of squeals and jumping up and down here.

Take a look at this rock close up... talk about gorgeous..

and just when you thought you could never see anything more beautiful take a look at this..

Two people madly in love and over flowing with happiness. If this doesn't make your heart fill with joy I don't know what will.

Stacie is the brightest and prettiest real-estate agent I know with a heart on fire for Jesus and Kyle is the most genuine and sincere guy on the planet. When you put those things together you get one power house couple. These two were absolutely made for each other.

So how did the proposal happen, you ask? Ill let Stacie tell you in her own words..

and just for a visual...
my heart is literally melting as I type.

So beautiful!

I can't wait to be one of her bridesmaids in June and I can't wait until she is one of mine this October! It's wedding season and I am over the moon excited!

The Perfect MOH Box

Today I am filling you in on how I asked Macie to be my MOH & all of the details involving throwing together the perfect MOH box!

Having a sister is one of life's biggest blessings! Macie and I are 4 years apart. Growing up I tended to be motherly towards her... and her response, well we'll just say she was content with only having one mom to boss her around. But as we have gotten older, we have both matured and I can honestly say that I don't know what I would do without her. She truly is my best friend.

With that being said I knew Macie would always be my maid of honor whenever the time came.

I stole this picture of Dave, Macie and me right after we got engaged off of her Instagram. I love it! I wanted to ask her to be my MOH the day that David and I got engaged but I somehow held out for just long enough to throw a little gift box together for her.

I picked up a few supplies from Hobby Lobby: a square brown box, pink paint, ruffly gold edging, black and white striped paper, modge podge, a paint brush, a small wooden letter "M" and a glass nob.

I started out by painting three coats of pink paint on both the inside and outside of the box.

I then measured the top of the box and using those dimensions I cut an equivalent square of the black and white striped paper to modge podge on top.

I was all anxious and excited to get the box done that I forgot to take pictures of the rest of the steps. Don't worry! It's easy-peasy! I just put a layer of modge podge on the top surface of the lid, and gently and evenly laid the black and white striped paper on top.

To make sure all of the creases and bumps are gone, smooth the paper down moving from one side to the next. I then put a coat of modge podge on top of the paper. Its important put a nice, thick coat, especially along the edge of the paper to securely attach it on the box.

Once that was completed I hot glued the edging around the upper edge of the box lid, painted my wooden letter "M" black and hot glued it smack dab in the center of the box, and screwed the little glass nob in the center of the lid.

It turned out like this:

An angle from the top.

& the side profile.

I picked up a few contents to throw inside!

The first one was this three dollar monogrammed notebook I found at Michaels! My wedding colors include gold and black & white stripes, so regardless if she uses it to jot down MOH duties & wedding to-do lists, it was a must purchase to throw in the box.

Of course I had to formally ask her to be my Maid Of Honor, so I whipped up a small little DIY square chalk board. I just purchased a black frame from Good Will, popped out the glass, spray painted the glass with 5 coats of chalk board spray paint, spray painted the frame gold, popped the spray painted glass back in the frame and I was good for the go! I used a chalk marker to add the finishing touch!

Macie and I are huge coffee drinkers so I couldn't go without throwing in the box a little personalized coffee mug. I made mine on Walgreens.com

Side #2

My Aunt Michelle owns a screen printing business & made me this adorable tee to throw in there too!

I rolled the tee up and tied it with a little black ribbon.

Then I placed the tee in the mug and began packing the box.

The size of the chalk board forced me to place everything at an angle, but overall I was really pleased with how it turned out!

I threw some wrapping paper around it...literally, and called it a day!

Here she is right after she opened it up!

We were both so excited!

I just love her to pieces & couldn't imagine my special day without her by my side!

I even made it on her snapchat story ;)

Now, let the wedding planning begin!

Word of the Week: Bridesmaid Addition

Happy Tuesday, Friends!

Last week I started a new series called Word of the Week! Each week I am defining a word with a variety of images and quotes that convey the personal meaning of the word and how it relates to my life. Last week I chose the word friendship and this week I am talking all about the word BRIDESMAID.

To read last weeks Word of the Week post click here.

Bridesmaid had a much different definition to me a week ago, and then my sweet friend Katie asked me to be one in her wedding and the meaning completely changed. Seriously, the excitement inside of me is unreal.

I shared this picture last week, but I am sharing it again because it is so precious! She is literally radiating happiness.

Katie's engagement was literally one of a kind and I am SO happy that I was there and able to be apart of it. Look how happy her and her man were after they got engaged. Doesn't the perfection melt your heart?

Okay.. now that you have a glimpse of the bride and groom to be.. I am onto the bridesmaid part...

Katie casually invited us girls out to dinner last week. I was just anticipating a great night out eating Mexican food and chatting with my besties. Never in a million years did I ever imagine she was going to ask us to be bridesmaids.

Then she handed us this...

And look at the adorable note that was inside. I cried. About fell over. It took all of my will power not to scream YESSSSSS as loudly as I could in the middle of Pablanos!!!!!

Of course I want to be her bridesmaid! Who freaking wouldn't...she is the best!

Everything was so fun and so special and I am so excited to help her tie the knot!!!!

Look what came inside the little boxes. The most adorable knot rings!!! Do you get the irony? How clever and cute, right?

And this picture fills my heart with joy...

and because we are talking about Bridesmaids and I think the movie Bridesmaids is absolutely hysterical...I felt as if this E-Card was pretty relevant.

Happy Tuesday, friends!!!
