Every Handbag You Could Ever Imagine

My parents are laying on the beach in Florida in 80 degree weather while I am stuck in Indiana, so I am coping by doing some online shopping at my one and only, Target.

If I do say so myself retail therapy does wonders for the winter blues.

So here's to ignoring reality and saying hello to spring and hello to a whole bunch of pretty handbags.

I am convinced that a handbag can add just the pop of color you need to your spring wardrobe. Check out these adorable inspirations from Pinterest.

Target has some unbelievably adorable handbags and they are buy one get one 50%.
It's like they knew I was in need of a new handbag at a great price.

Check out some of there absolutely stunning and unique bags:

red one//red two//red three

Talk about a steal. I ordered the blue one in the middle and the pink one on the far left. I think these two bags are going to become staples in my spring wardrobe this year.

So excited to add a little sass and fun to my everyday attire with these colorful handbags.

Which ones are your favorites?

April Goals

(source)

#1. Find A Job!
I'm about to enter the real world and I am just a tad bit scared/overwhelmed. In just a few short weeks I will be graduating from college and my life will be a whole lot different than it has been for the past 4 years. No longer will I be a student, I will be a working adult, hopefully! This month I am putting finding a job at the top of my priority list.

#2. Lease my first ever apartment.

For the last three years I have lived in a cooperative house at Purdue with 39 other girls. I have loved it dearly, but I am eager for my own space. I am so anxious to have my own closet, my own bathroom and my own bedroom. I am hoping to find the perfect little apartment by the end of April. I am already thinking of how I want to decorate it and make it my own.

#3. Soak in the last few weeks of being a Boilermaker.

Just the thought of leaving Purdue makes my eyes swell. I love this place more than anything and I am going to do everything in my power to hold on to these last few moments of bleeding black and gold.

#4. Enjoy learning.

It's crazy to think that I have been enrolled in school for over a decade and a half. I truly have been blessed with the opportunity to learn for so long, but I think I take it for granted far too often. I am going to enjoy learning in a classroom setting this month.

#5. Embrace time with friends.

This one is a tear jerker for me too, I know you are all shocked. School is winding down and so is my time living under the same roof as all of my best friends. You best believe that I am going to embrace every second I have left with them.

#6. Pray more, worry less.

With all of these big life changes happening at once I have been worrying like crazy and have been discovering occasional gray hairs..yes gray hairs at the age of 22. Something has to change friends. This month I am going to commit to praying more and worrying less.

#7. Think positive thoughts about April 25th.

My grandpa passed away last year on April 25th. It was the roughest day of my life to date. My sweet cousin Courtney had already set her wedding date for April 25th of this year, so the day is going to be awfully bittersweet. I am going to try really hard to remember all of the great memories of my grandpa, while celebrate the happy couple and make new memories.

#8. Try something new.

I am eager for a new hobby and this month I am going to challenge myself to start something new. Does anyone have some good ideas?

#9. Book our honeymoon!

Our wedding is slowly approaching and my little wedding app keeps buzzing at me to book our honeymoon. David and I are going to book our sweet getaway this month.

#10. Buy birthday presents!

May is full of millions of birthdays and there are lots of presents to be bought. This month I am going to find the perfect birthday gifts for all of the important people of my life.

What are your goals this month?

Thankful Thursday

My sweet bestie Addie and I are kicking off our Thursday with lots of thankfulness!
If you are anything like me you know how hectic life can be. Sometimes I lose sight of the many blessings, big and small, that fill my life with so much joy everyday.

I love Thankful Thursday because it forces me to reflect on the many positives throughout the week and allows me to truly be thankful for the beauty amongst life's craziness.

There are so many things that I am thankful for this week, but there is one that stands above all of the others.

I have always had a passion for children, especially children with disabilities.
I firmly believe that the ability to play is crucial to the social and physical development of all children. Children with physical and cognitive challenges have the same desires to build strength, increase social skills, and test their abilities as do children without disabilities. While we as a society might not be able to find all the cures that are needed, we can do something to fix the world around them.

I have been working on a project for a little over three years to build an all inclusive, accessible play environment that allows all children to feel like they belong in my small little hometown. The town has been in desperate need of a playground the suites every child in the community and allows youngsters of all capabilities to interact with one another.

I am so thankful this week for SDI who graciously closed our fundraising gap and donated $25,000. The news was announced at the City Council meeting this Tuesday evening and I could not be more overjoyed or blessed. God is good. My community is good.

Here is the Columbia City Park director presenting the project and final check to the community.

I am teary eyed thinking about all of the generosity and love from members of the community who have supported this project and who have encouraged me throughout the way.

I can't wait to see this gem of a playground being played on! So extra thankful this week.

What are you thankful for this week?

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Everyone!!!
The weekend is finally here!!! I am kicking off the excitement with another link-up of Friday Favorites with some of my favorite bloggers. Check out Andrea's blog called MomfessionalsErika's blog called A Little Bit of Everything, and Narci's blog called Grace and Love. Their blogs are so inspiring and they are a must read!

#1. Brownie Brittle
My mom sent me these in a care package awhile back and I can't keep my hands out of the bag. They are like little drops of heaven that melt in your mouth. I LOVE the crispy edges of brownies and these mimic the taste perfectly. If you are a lover of brownies, than these will be sure to fix your craving!

#2. Old School Fashionistas
I have a weird obsession with wishing I lived in the early-mid 1900's. I am obsessed with June Cleaver from the good ole show Leave it to Beaver and I can't help but swoon over Jackie Kennedy and her gorgeous style full of class and elegance.

She is just full of beauty! I can't help but love her outfit.

Love me some high waisted skirts. She's killing it with that gold belt!

She is such a fashion icon, friends!

This just screams perfection. I wish this hat was still socially acceptable ;)

Goodness gracious, I just love, love, LOVE how modest, yet chic she is!

#3. Spring Break Clothes
Now on to something not so modest... bathing suits!

Gosh darn it, friends, Target does it again and somehow ends up with half of my paycheck. As much as it annoys me that I literally have no self-control when it comes to online shopping, I love getting packages in the mail filled with all kinds of goodies.

And what is better than a package filled with swimsuits that were buy one get one 50% off.
Not a whole lot ;)

I love purchasing patterned tops that I can pair with a pre-existing solid pair of bottoms. It really expands my bathing suit collection and does so at such an affordable price. When I saw this top I just knew my solid black bottoms were calling its name!

I have a new found love for one pieces and tankinis, and of course I have always been addicted to polka dots and peplum tops. All of my favorites merged into one and it's a win for me! It would have been a sin if I would have passed up this one of a kind cutie.

I have had the same striped cover-up since I was a freshman in high school so I was extremely overdue for something a little more mature and classy. I went with this beach staple to add to my spring break collection...
This sweet little suit cover-up comes in BlackCoral or Cream.

I went with black, so I could pair it with this adorable floppy, beach hat.
I am obsessed with this purchase, but if it's not your thing check out these other cute options. You will be looking like a beach babe in no time sporting one of these!

I think I might have to add this to the cart before Spring Break. I just can't get over the bow. It's perfect.

and this hat is perfect is you want to add a little sass to your beach wardrobe. You can never go wrong with cheetah print. It's a neutral, right friends?

I already have a beach bag, but I am swooning over how cute this is...

This little guy is only $9.99 and I may just have to take the plunge and sacrifice Starbucks next week for it. I think it's worth it, do you agree?

It would go perfectly with my new cover-up and floppy hat

#4. Short Hair. Don't Care.

Once upon a time, I had short hair and bangs. Hard to imagine, huh? Well here is a little throw back to my younger days, when I had short, little locks & occasional piggies...
You can't tell me that I don't look like a toddler. Sadly, I am a senior in high school here.

This was my sweet bestie Addie's bachelorette party.

The summer going into my freshman year of college with one of my all-time favorite co-workers, Chelsey!

At my high school graduation party with my sweet grandparents. I laughed when I saw this picture because since then my grandma has handed me down the tank top she is wearing and I am literally obsessed with it. She is such a little fashionista & I adore some good ole' hand-me downs from her. She's a gem.

And lastly, when I was a freshman in college, when my short bob was finally starting to grow out.

Okay, you get the idea. My hair was short and now my hair is long. Too long for it's own good really. I just want to chop the sucker off, but I just can't bring myself to do it until after my wedding.

You best believe that day I get back from my honeymoon, my hair will be gone instantaneously. I am hoping that it is long enough by that point that I can donate it to Locks of Love, and I am also hoping that by some miracle I am able to style a short bob better than I did when I was 17. ;)

Here are some of my favorite shorter styles that I just love!

What are your favorites this week? I can't wait to hear!

Happy Friday, friends! Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO

Thankful Thursday

My sweet bestie Addie and I are kicking off our Thursday with lots of thankfulness!
If you are anything like me you know how hectic life can be. Sometimes I lose sight of the many blessings, big and small, that fill my life with so much joy everyday.

I love Thankful Thursday because it forces me to reflect on the many positives throughout the week and allows me to truly be thankful for the beauty amongst life's craziness.

Here are just a few of the things that I am thankful for this week:

#1. Date Nights With My Man

My love language is most definitely quality time. I can't even believe I am saying this, but David could seriously buy me a million pairs of Tom wedges and caramel lattes from Starbucks (and I would be thankful of course), but I would rather spend a few hours chatting with him and joking around.

I love this.

This semester our schedules are polar opposite and we really don't get a whole lot of time to spend with each other outside of studying at the library and going to church, so this week I am EXTRA thankful for a Friday night date night with my main squeeze.

We went out to dinner and then to see Sister Act on Broadway. Can I get an amen?

#2. Family Time

Remember that quality time thing I was just talking about? Well the rule applies to my family as well. I cherish some time spent with my fam bam too! I am thankful for the love they bless me with daily and the wonderful support system and stability that they constantly give me.

David and I met my parents, my brother & his girl friend and my sister & her bestie in Indianapolis on Sunday for a little lunch date and to watch the Pacers play against the Philadelphia 76ers. It was pure bliss getting to spend the day with the ones I love the most.

#3. Pinterest Inspiration
I try really hard to think about what the world was like before Pinterest and I honestly just can't remember. I have no idea how people planned weddings or dressed themselves. It stuns me really.

I am so thankful for a place where people can share their ideas, their passions, and their creativity for all of the world to see.

I will be the first to admit that I spend WAYYY too much time on Pinterest than I would like to admit, and I have an excessive amount of boards, but hey, it's cheaper than retail therapy, so I think I will continue obsessing over it until it gets to the point where I stop showering and eating because of it.

Here are some of my favorite boards on my Pinterest.

#4. The Ability To Dream
What kind of life would it be if we didn't have the ability to dream about our future and all of hopes and desires?

A few months ago, I blogged all about my Dream Board. It is a simple DIY cork board that I use as a place to store pictures of all of my dreams. I have it hanging right above my desk as a constant reminder of why I do what I do. Life is hard sometimes, but my Dream Board pictures give me motivation to keep pushing through the hard times.

I am thankful for passion, devotion, love, and desire that ignite my desire to dream about the future.

I dream to...
own my own business.
travel outside of the country.
get my masters degree.
be a wife.
be a mom.
adopt a child.
host an exchange student.
visit all 50 states.
start my own nonprofit organization.

To read more about my dreams check out my Bucket List.

What are your dreams for the future?

#5. My Readers
Friends, I am so thankful for you! Truly, my blog would not be the same without each one of you and your support. I am so thankful for this happy place of mine and the ability to share something I love so much, with all of my friends!

What are you thankful for this week?

Much love, friends!
